Have you ever wondered why most businesses have their own Facebook fan page? Why they’re trying to get more likes as many as they could? It’s easy as 1-2-3. Facebook has been the largest network of people today. Almost everyone has his or her own Facebook account regardless of age. This only means that their customers are most probably on the said Social Networking Site. That’s enough reason for them to desire the most likes on their fan page. But the question is how can it happen? In this article, we will discuss strategies by which you can get the most likes for your business’ Facebook fan page.
2 Ways To Get Facebook Likes
There are actually 2 ways by which you can gather likes on Facebook. The first way is called Organic. It is the hardest and the most promising. It is hard because you either need to be a popular celebrity or an influential business tycoon for people to like your page without the essential marketing. On the other hand, having exceptional content will also compel them to like your page and long for more information you are providing through that page. It is the most promising because it lasts. The authority you build through your Facebook fan page will stick to people’s mind for the longest time. They will remember you for the great content you provide and you will be recognized in your niche of interest.
The second way is the artificial means and this is where we will focus in our discussion. In this way you will somehow manipulate the playing field in a good sense. There are also two ways that you can make people like your page in this method. The first is you can buy likes. It’s like buying votes. This is super expensive. Imagine buying a like for $2, that’s $200 for a hundred likes and for a thousand likes you’ll need $2000. You need to be Richie-rich to have 10,000+ likes on your business’ Facebook fan page.
But there’s still the second way in the artificial means of getting more likes and it is creating the demand. Through this way, you will give the reason why people need to like your page. There are a lot of techniques in doing this. For one, you can run a contest on your fan page where you’ll give away a trip to the Philippines, or you can give away gadgets like an IPAD and other prices you think the people in your niche are interested. Today, there is no better way to gather likes on Facebook other than running a contest that will force or will let people like your page.
Running A Contest On Facebook
Before running a contest, you need to know three things. First is who your target likers are? Running a contest and getting the likes from the people who aren’t on your niche is useless. You’re losing the purpose of getting likes if you target the wrong people. Second is how much are you willing to spend for the likes you will get? Prizes matter in a contest. If you’re just willing to give away just a piece of candy, no one would dare to join your contest. But, if you’re willing and able to give away, let’s say, a free pass to a luxurious resort like Caliraya Recreation Center, people will pour in naturally as participants. You need a competitive prize for your contest before people will engage themselves to it. Next thing you need to consider is the mechanics of your contest. Of course, you need to include that people should like your page as a part of the contest mechanics. It should not be too hard for people to comply before they can have a chance to win. Lastly, you will also need an effective marketing for your contest, so that people will know that you have a contest running. Running a Facebook contest can be very challenging especially if you don’t have a compelling prize for people to join your contest.
Having more Facebook likes on your business’ fan page can do a lot of favor to your company. One, it will give people the impression that you have the reputation in your business niche. Two, It’s an automatic customer list. Most probably, the people who liked your page are possible customers for your business. Three, since a lot liked your page you can use that as another channel of marketing for your business. You can use it to promote new products or services, promotions or discounts, and to let your customers know about company events and activities. These are some of the things you can do with a viable Facebook fan page for your company. There’s a lot more benefits in having 10000+ likes on your business’ fan page, all you have to do is to get the likes and discover the power it has in store for your company.

Hi Robert, the contest idea is great.
Just a heads up though when buying likes. Most services provide you with bots that automatically like your page. These followers aren’t any good as they won’t contribute to any of your tweets.
What other services do is they use a auto follow and unfollow software that will need your username and password. Again, it will give you a ton of followers, but it might flood your Twitter with spammers.
Just watch out.
Sometimes 500 targeted followers is better than 10,000 bots. But if those 10,000 followers are real people that contribute to your tweets, that would be great.
There are tools available to see your true reach when it comes to your followers. Klout is has a service like this. It’s free.

yea I just got done reading a article on bots and how google is trying to crack down on these types of blackhat techniques.
Robert says
Hi Louie,
Thanks for your comment. I’ll be checking on Klout.
Yes, you’re right. There are a lot of fake likers on Facbook. But if genuine people will like your fan page for a reason that would really give you immeasurable benefits for you or your company.
Thanks!

I definitely agree with you. The best way to gain likes is by making sure that you page outshine the rest. This is will eventually be more gainful to your follows.

I totally agree with you..organic is the hardest but most promising one. Contests can also bring in likes but most just lke the page for the purpose of the contest and might not even show up again after contest. Nice tips anyways

I prefer the organic one, but the time i will devour in getting those people is the problem. Really appreciate your tips.

If I ran a good contest and lets say the prize was worth $500 – i wonder if this would be more efficient bringing in readers and also cost less than my ppc campaign?
Jaimee says
You might still need your PPC campaign to promote your contest though..

Running a contest wins hands down! Paying for fans is not a good thing. I’d rather have legit true readers/fans. I bet Google can find out and it might harm your site. JMO

I prefer all my facebook likes to be organic. After all, those are the fans that are returning visitors. But i guess at the beginning it’s great to start out with like 100 likes from your friends and family just so people who like your page, wont get isolated.

Buying likes will only get you “social proof” and does nothing else really but make your site look popular. Most of the time these “likes” are by recommendation on someone else’s FB page (they never visit your page) and they tick the like there. Or can be form software that makes new accounts (fake) and directs to your site to “like”. Pretty much worthless though.
Organic is much more lucrative as these folks will see you via their news-feeds and more likely to interact since then “liked” your page directly. Thus you can pitch them stuff and hold contests, etc to keep things fresh and engaging so as to make it go more viral. Go to have good stuff so people will want to Like it!

When I have to like a page to join a contest, what I will do after the draw is to unlike the page, especially if I am not interested on what they’re saying in the news feed. I think the best way to gather tons of likes is to create a great page. Nice article, this made my mind work.

Really amazing. I have been trying to get some likes on one of my new facebook pages and its difficult to get people to like it. It does take time, its not impossible. I will try some of the suggestions made by you.

Today, you can just use an automated software to get “likes” same as buying likes. I think buying likes is expensive. Using a program is worth the money I guess. Also, try to get “targeted” likes as much as possible and engaging content in your site.

I agree. There’s a lot of software that are sold nowadays to get lots of facebook likes. But I think nothing beats natural likes as it sparks interest among their friends.

Business Page Do not have search field to search for Potential customers and like them. People will reciprocate if we like their page

Thanks for the article. 10,000 likes would be great, if they’re real. I wouldn’t really want to allow anyone to access my account to put fake likes there. Thanks for the tips, I will continue to try and get as many likes as possible, maybe later we will come up with a good contest.
thanks again,
John

Hmmm…. I always wondered how people had like 40,000 Facebook likes …even if you get that many people to your page though very few actually take the time to give you a like… isn’t there automated systems now that cheat and give you fake likes???
