If you have a website you might be familiar with “Web Analytics??? well, if you ask me it’s very important, my blog won’t survive without it. Because I use my web analytics (which is 103bees and Google Analytics, we’ll talk about that later) to search for keywords and also to track my visitors. Many use it for business, internet marketing and advertisement. It is very popular on SEO’s and webmaster due to the fact that they use it to track different keywords and long tails.
We all know that the web is a very competitive place, don’t we? There are always new websites and mostly blogs that come up everyday. So what are you going to do so you will stand out of those gazillion of blogs? The answer is CONTENT MANAGING, but how? Well, track visitors so that you know what to give them.
Don’t worry lad, it’s not that hard. Just insert some piece of HTML and poof you’ll be tracking like a guru.
Some web analytics has this features that I REALLY need:
1. Visitors – Of course this is the most important feature of a web analytics. It tells you how many visitors came, where they come from and how.
2. Keywords and Longtails – If you’re an SEO, this is maybe the most important aspect for you. No worries! Almost all of web analytics have this. This feature lets you know which keywords are used by your visitors on search engines to get to your website, a good tool for optimizing your site for certain keywords.
3. Direct, Referral or Search Engines? – Web analytics can tell how visitors got to your site. But mostly free web analytics are limited; they only show the top 10, not all. So if you want to be more accurate you could always buy one lad.
4. Time – You will know how long do visitors stay at your site, who is loyal and who is just a drifter!
5. I shall return! – Analytics can track down if your visitors are returning or not by leaving cookies, don’t worry these cookies are not that bad.
Those are just some features of a web analytics that I usually use, but there are many of them that internet marketers use to track there sales and the like.
Maybe you’re thinking if what web analytics I use, don’t you?
I use a combination to easily see and track visitors.
I use 103bees and Google Analytics for a start. I really like Google’s because they display a graph which tells where visitors came from and how.
Look at this for an example. This is a screenshot taken by me yesterday
You could see that almost %30 of my visitors came from digg (Web 2.0 in action!) and %20 typed it directly into their browsers. You could see that %31 is labeled as others which I could zoom in for a detailed view.
I don’t know why I liked 103bees maybe because of its simplicity. Just one look and I’ll know if my stats is going down or up but good news for me everyday! My stats are going up! Up! Up! Hooray for me! LOL
But if you ask me on what web analytics to use, I’ll recommend you to Google’s web analytics. It’s up to you if you want to use two trackers like me.

I only recently signed up for google analytics, and can already see the benefits it offers, i didnt really know where my visitors were coming from. i actually get more visitors from other sites so I now know that my efforts were spot on, if its bringing me traffic.
