I don’t believe in destiny. I believe that 10% of our life is given, and the 90% is how you make it. Life for me is like a game of chess. All the plans you make, every strategy you think of, and each move you take must be cautious. “Touch move” we say. For every move we make, we can’t take it back or change it. It’s a done deal. With that in mind, I live by this bible verse; Proverbs 22:3 “The clever one sees the danger and conceals himself, But the inexperienced keep right on going and suffer the consequences”.
Picking a course in college was difficult, and yet I took my first move without hesitation. In an instant, it was 2018 and I was a 20-year-old IT graduate from PUP- San Pedro. All those years of hardship was worth it especially that I was able to go through it with the help of my beloved parents and supportive friends. Reminiscing all the memories of my college days is truly fascinating. I remember whispering to myself, “I made it.”
I took my second move.
I found Carl Ocab Digital Marketing and applied as a developer. Programming and web design has always been my passion and I was so excited to put my passion into work. I learned so much during the training with the help of my fellow developers that were and still are great mentors. We are a family in this office. We enjoy playing board games, watching movies and eating together during our lunches. This has made us closer to each other. Doing the job while actually enjoying it has got to be the best feeling out there. Our tasks may differ from each other but we work as a team. Teamwork is important just like how every piece in chess is important. Each member has a role and we’ve got each other’s backs.
Michael Jordan once said, “Practice like you never won. Play like you’ve never lost.” Losing in a battle doesn’t mean we totally lose. It’s an opportunity for us to grow and learn. Winning a battle doesn’t mean we are strong, It’s an indication that we are improving.
Now that my move is done, it’s your turn now!
And don’t forget our rules, touch move!
